Wilhelmshaven LNG Terminal : First step validated !

ECOnnect Energy has contracted Geocean to support the installation of the IQuay ready-to use solution for importing LNG to Wilhelmshaven. The successful initiation of the Wilhelmshaven FSRU project is a crucial step towards bolstering Germany’s energy security.
In collaboration with ECOnnect, we have embarked on the installation of the jettyless IQuay infrastructure and pipelines connecting the FSRU Excelsior directly to the German grid.

🏗️ The challenge: Transforming a simple barge into a state-of-the-art installation vessel within just 15 days.

💡 Our role: We install a 1.7 km long gas import pipeline 14 m under the sea, directly connecting the FSRU Hoegh Speranza to the German grid. We are also in charge of the installation works, and close to our client @Econnect, we deliver the complete installation services to FSRU Wilhelmshaven for the IQuay. For that, we set up our bespoke Geocean Fast-Flex barge solution, bringing together all the equipment needed to install this pipeline. In less than 15 days, drawing on 40 years of expertise in the field, we transformed a simple barge rented in Amsterdam into an essential tool for this ambitious project.
