Sète: Dismantling and rebuilding of a refined product loading and unloading pipeline

Geocean was commissioned to replace a refined product loading/unloading pipeline inside a port enclosure.

This delicate operation had to be carried out without disrupting activity, ensuring a pipeline break along a route imposed by the port’s architecture. It involved dismantling an existing pipeline and installing a new 1.4 km, 24″ pipeline by connecting it to a floating line above the water.

Engineering, procurement, construction and installation:

  • Supply of onshore/offshore equipment.
  • Ground preparation (dredging, debris removal, backfilling).
  • one subsea pipeline, 24″ O.D., 1,400 mm long).
  • Installation of power cables.
  • Onshore prefabrication of pipeline sections.
  • Launching, towing and burying of pipelines.
  • Connection of sections on floating equipment.
  • Installation of 9 connection sleeves.
