This green gas terminal has been included in the list of priority projects supported by the German LNG Acceleration Act. It embodies the key role of FSRU LNG terminals in the environmental transition by diversifying sources of supply, offering an alternative to more polluting energy sources, and helping to maintain economic development and the gradual migration towards completely decarbonised energy.
Geocean implemented a “Fast Flex” solution with a modular barge that is easy to set up and adapted to the high standards and specificities of the project. The client Econnect used thermoformable composite pipes instead of traditional rigid steel pipelines. This choice extends beyond their lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties. Their defining feature lies in their ability to facilitate swift installation, shorten delivery times, and adapt seamlessly to the distinct requirements of marine environments. The Geocean team quickly got to grips with the new equipment, adapting to its technical constraints.
