Wilhelmshaven LNG terminal: Installation of the first TCP bundle

23 September 2024 Projects

🚀 In this new video, you can discover the installation of the first three Thermo Composite Pipe (TCP) lines assembled in a bundle, moving away from the traditional use of steel pipe to a more flexible, quicker-to-deploy solution.

We unloaded 3 of the 6 TCP reels at the Eurogate terminal and loaded the PLEMs and flexible riser hoses on board the barge. Now, Fast-Flex has been set as near as possible to the shore. You will follow an 800m pipe-pulling operation continued by the regular laying operation. This is a challenging operation with the side tide current and during the harsh German winter conditions!

🛠 Why TCP? Choosing @Strohm Thermoplastic Composite Pipes (TCP) for this project stage extends beyond their lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties. Their defining feature lies in their ability to facilitate swift installation, shorten delivery times, and adapt seamlessly to the distinct requirements of marine environments.
